A phosphate-free citric passivation concentrate and deoxidizer cleaner.
Designed to remove surface contamination, increase corrosion resistance, remove discoloration, tarnishes, scales and oxides. It is an alternative for nitric acid
passivation, and passes citric acid passivation evaluations such as ASTM A967.

Typical Contaminants Removed | Chem-Crest ProPass removes light oils, light scales and oxides, and general contaminants from the surfaces of parts. To extend the life of the bath, it is recommended to ultrasonically clean before passivation. |
Operating Conditions | Recommended dilution is 10-20% by volume and 25% by volume for heavy descaling at temperatures of 150°-180°F. Passivation temperatures: 140°-160°F – 4minutes minimum. Passivation temperatures: 120°-140°F – 10minutes minimum. Passivation temperatures: 70°-120°F – 20minutes minimum. Contact your Crest representative for product-line specific recommendations. Recommended rinsing water temperature: 100 – 150°F. |
Substrate Compatibility | Chem-Crest ProPass is compatible with brass, bronze, copper, stainless steel, zinc and aluminum. It is safe on glass, ceramics and plastics. Ferrous surfaces (non-stainless steel) must be protected immediately after treatment with Chem-Crest ProPass with an appropriate rust inhibitor. |
Availability | Chem-Crest ProPass is available in cases of (4) x 1-gallon plastic bottles, 5-gallon pails, and in 55-gallon containers. |
